The 22nd of June marks the anniversary of the day Caribbean migrants arrived in the UK on the SS Empire Windrush. National Windrush Day has been recognised since 2018, to celebrate British Caribbean communities and their contribution to British culture, art, society and more.

The Windrush generation is celebrated, and support is given to people affected by the Windrush scandal. Events are held locally around the UK by towns and villages. Many museums and institutions also hold events and share resources to educate people on the history surrounding the Windrush migration.
